Our robotics team collaborated with the Kingsway Learning Center in Voorhees as they began implementing the Go Baby Go program, introducing children with disabilities to mobility devices. We modified four ride-on toy vehicles by integrating a large push button for motor control, allowing children to use their hands to move the vehicle instead of using a foot pedal. Additionally, we installed an emergency stop switch on the vehicle, allowing parents to deactivate it when needed.
Team members attended Derby Day at Kingsway Learning Center to help make personalized safety modifications for each of the students' vehicles. Our team worked with the therapists to make sure each vehicle was appropriately fitted for their students. The students then tested out the vehicles and drove around the race course.
